24th International Young Fashion Designer Contest 2006 / Concours International des Jeunes Createurs

24th edition of the International Competition for young Fashion Designers is set to take place at the Carrousel du Louvre, in Paris on December 14, 2006 under the theme “Fashion - The Way to Express The Body & The Mind”. Registration is on!

The competition was born in 1982 in Japan and was sponsored by Air France. One year later with the participation of the Fédération Française de la Couture, du Prêt à Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode, it became an international event. This Fashion design competition is one of the most prestigious student contest.

The Arts of Fashion Competition is to promote & reward creativity & inventiveness, discover young talents & encourage careers, establish enriching contacts & exchanges between different countries, different Schools & Universities, different industries & fields to know each other better.

The first 3 laureates will receive Awards and a Certification for their creative and original work based on themes chosen each year by the Paris organization. (Coherence with the theme, skills level, and art expressiveness). The first 10 laureates in the Fashion category and first 5 in the Accessory category will represent the United States for the Final of the 24th International Competition for Young Fashion Designers (Concours International des Jeunes Createurs de Mode - Paris) at the Carrousel du Louvre, in Paris on December 14, 2006.

THEME 2006: Fashion - The Way to Express The Body & The Mind / La Mode - un moyen d’expression du corps et de l’esprit)

Pre-CALENDAR 2006:

- January 16, 2006: Registration online is open up to a limit of 500 participants.

- April 26, 2006: Deadline to receive your fashion illustration with its requirements to mail to the Arts of Fashion Foundation.

- May 26, 2006: Publication on the AF website of the list of the selected candidates.

- October 9, 2006: Deadline to receive your entire final project to mail to the Arts of Fashion Foundation.

- October 16-19, 2006: Arts of Fashion Foundation Student workshops (MasterClass-serie).

- October 20-21, 2006: National Final - Arts of Fashion Competition. (Exhibition, Seminar, Presentation, Fashion Show, Award Ceremony and Results of the winners who will represent the United States in Paris).

- December 14, 2006: 24 th International Competition for Young Fashion Designers (Concours International des Jeunes Createurs de Mode - Paris).
