Alanis Morissette with new Album in Germany
With over 40 million cds sold since her debut in 1995 the Canadian musician now returns with a new album and tour.
Alanis Morissette, seven time Grammy winner, will release her new album “Flavors Of Entanglement” on May 30 in Germany. All prior releases by Alanis Morissette are documents of her analysis of her personal history, her relationships and the present. Alanis Morissette opens herself in a touching emotional way and distress as well as in powerful rocksongs. Quite often she deals with past relationships. “I like the idea that he talks to me out of the past and i answer from the present”, Alanis explains, whose work is closely connected to personal reconditioning. “My songs inspire me often to deal more brave and truthful with everyday life”.
With “Jagged Little Pill”, the angry young woman had replaced the commonly used slogans and formulas by brutal honesty and autobiogrphic fragments. At the age of 16 she had already released her first local hit single which got her the Juno-Award and by the age of 21 she was the biggest overnight sensation of the rock age.
With the cd “Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie” she defied the enormous peer pressure and confuted rash misgivings clear cut. The singer and songwriter who is hailed as the “icon of truthfulness” created a new genre of “angstshaped rock”. Despite all unparalleled success, Alanis Morissette stuck to her uncommercial style and simultaneously expanded her spectrum immensely.
After the US leg of her tour the German audience will get the chance to see the singer on selected dates between the 5th of June and 10th of July when she comes to Germany for five shows in Frankfurt, München, Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne.
