ART ESSENZ No. 9 @ Sony Center
The annual art fair “ART ... ESSENZ” kicks off tomorrow at the Sony-Center (Potsdamer Platz) in Berlin featuring about 50 international artists selling affordable art work.
From September 7 to 9 (2pm-10pm) the artists are selling contemporary art for less than 100 €. The spectrum is large and ranges from paintings, graphics, photographs and collages to objects and sculptures.
In particular you are invited to discuss the artwork with the artists. The pieces of art are for take-away.
Among the participating artist is the trio les petites almonds consisting of Evelyn Höhne, Christiane Frohmann and Marisa Rosato. The artists will present popart under the title „I SEE“ including comics, objects and photographs. Evelyn Höhne supplements pictures of children looking sweat and innocent in the first instance with bonmots or strokes of brushes in order to give them a kind of melancholy and rebellion to a certain extend.
Michael Jähnecke shows photographs under the title „Babelphoto“. The photos consists of ugly and morbid motives, which are on the the other side full of aesthetic.
Gertraude Kremers & Luisa Landsberg will present graphics under the title „Kunst für die Handtasche“, which means “art in a handbag to take-away wherever you want”. The artists create foldable books and fanfold paper including graphic compositions designed to fit into a handbag.
Thore Kienscherf showcases his paintings titled „Bildschönheiten“ The model-pictures reflect his view on the sensuality of advertising pictures and fashion-photography. In his artwork the female models are dissociated .
