BCBGMAXAZRIA - New York Fashion Week

This friday Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York started at Bryant Park and the first show at “The Tent” belonged to Max Azria.

Born in France with roots in Tunesia, Max Azria moved to the US in the 80’s after his fashion education in the french fashion capital Paris. It was in California where he founded his BCBG fashion label. BCBG being an acronym for “bon chic, bon genre” which could translate as “good style, good attitude”.

Last friday he showed a collection in New York - light and sexy jersey dresses for the 2009 spring and summer season.

The casual dresses with pockets all over shimmered elegantly which obviusly was the motto for this collection by Max and his wife Lubov Azria who is in charge for all the business aspects of BCBG and plays an important role in choosing the right style for every upcoming collection.

Dresses and pant suits were worn in combination with platform sandals who looked like exotic skin and were the perfect complement to the season’s garments.

Grey and white as well as light pastel where the dominant colors of the cloth. Mundane accessories like a light grey handbag combined perfectly to the stylish collection.

BCBGMAXAZRIA - the “Tent-opener” for New York Fashion Week with front row guests like Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Vivica A. Fox was the perfect start for the Bryant Park shows and foreshadowed the many thrilling catwalks coming up during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York spring/summer 2009.
