Berlin - BADPAPER release party

First came the techno related axis Berlin - Detroit. In a city of art, design, fashion, the next axis might be right around the corner.

On December 5th at 7pm pGs & Homage present the release party of the first issue of “BADPAPER - THE NOUGHTY NOUGHTIES”, which might mark the beginning of a young and stylish Berlin - Moskow axis. For centuries there has always been a strong relation between Russia’s capitol and Berlin. For ages, Berlin has always been a city with a large Russian population whose life, art and literature played an important role. Nowadays there’s a strong young Russian avantgarde who output amazing projects like the one which gets presented at this exciting event.

Photographer Aleksey Kiselev, whose works already appeared in magazines like Dazed & Confused, ID and Afisha and Russia’s best-known male model Danila Polyakov collaborated over a period of two years. The project THE NOUGHTY NOUGHTIES shows the result of experiments and fashion reincarnation of Danila, performed to “the photographer” aka Aleksey Kiselev.

The works you can see in the first issue of BADPAPER blur the line between art and fashion, and the images of Danila Polyakov modeling are close to crossing the line between fashion photography and pornography.

Polyakov, who is tall, pale and fragile with long flowing red hair, who could be the role model for the way to define masculine beauty - especially according to Slavic stereotypes of male machismo - is praised for his ambiguous look by designers such as Russian prankster Denis Simachev, futuristic designer star Yohji Yamamoto and the sexy and feminine couture legend Jean Paul Gaultier.

The night at HOF96/ABPROJECT, located at TORSTRASSE 96 in 10119 BERLIN - near Rosenthaler Platz, will bring together all kinds of fascinating people from Berlin and Moskow. Be there at 7pm on December 5th!
