Just in time for Berlin Fashion Week January 2008 the Galeries Lafayette celebrate the creativity of upcoming Berlin fashion designers and the launch of the book „BERLIN FASHION – Metropole der Mode“ by Nadine Barth with an exhibition of photographer Alexander Gnädinger in collaboration with set designer Annika Lischke.
Between january 28th and february 23rd pictures which were especially produced for the book will be shown on Galerie Lafayette’s 2nd floor. The special attraction of the book lies in the presentation of fashion in contrast to the architecture of Germany’s capital.
Around half of the fashion labels which are presented in the book have sold their collections at the unuique and exlusive LABO MODE section of Galeries Lafayette like well known names as c.neeon, IO, Kaviar Gauche, penkov and Pulver.
The book „BERLIN FASHION – Metropole der Mode“ (DuMont Buchverlag) gives some interesting and complete picture of the Berlin fashion network, presents 40 of the most important Berlin fashion labels and lists 100 up to date adresses of ateliers, shops & schools.
The book is already for sale before the official launch date on Galerie Lafayette’s 2nd floor.
It was back in 2004 when Galeries Lafayette Berlin already founded LABO MODE - a special shopping area as platform for talented young designers, mainly from Berlin, in direct “neighborhood” to international designer brands.
