Blank + Jones, Bernard Sumner: Miracle Cure

Thumb

On the 30th of May Blank + Jones will release “Miracle Cure” which is the first single from the upcoming album “The Logic of Pleasure”.

"Miracle Cure” will be released, containing seven mixes on the cd. The mixes originate from the blank + jones studio, as well as from the Manchaster born Berlin resident Hypno-Trance pioneer Mark Reeder, and by the electro obsessive Canadian Glenn Morrison, and by German trance master Martin Roth, by the anglo-german adventurers Onetwo (with their member Paul Humphreys of OMD) and the Canadian chilltronica clubkings Lulu Rouge, who are the live band of Trentemøller.

Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones belong to the most requested remixers of the world. Including their “Love Kills” edit which was released for Freddie Mercury’s 50th birthday, they did remixes for Moby, Yell, Pet Shop Boys and The Killers.

With the album “The Logic of Pleasure” (release date June 6 2008) they continue their tradition of working with unique singers with different temperaments. For “Miracle Cure” they collaborated with Bernhard Sumner, whose voice set the direction for Joy Division and New Order. The connection of the solid, pulsating music by Bland + Jones and the enigmatic, pithy and as well soft singing of Bernard Sumner convinces. Sumner’s fragile and at the same time gushy melancholy melts in some miraculous way with Blank + Jones’s typical nose for the more epical electronic music. Sumner wrote and sang his part after he had completed his work with New Order for the soundtrack of Anton Corbijn’s film about Joy Division “Control”.
