DOKU.ARTS at FILMMUSEUM AMSTERDAM

The 3rd International Festival for Films on Art will take place at the FILMMUSEUM AMSTERDAM between June 5th and 8th, 2008!

They are ready now to receive film applications until the 1st of April 2008.

After the success of the second edition in September 2007 (they tripled the audience figures, had very positive responses from their audience and international press – see, for example, the current issue of DOX magazine by the European Documentary Network), they are glad to extend the scope and perspective of this new European film festival in collaboration with the Filmmuseum Amsterdam. Upon invitation from the Filmmuseum’s new director, Sandra den Hamer (former Director of the Rotterdam Film Festival), DOKU.ARTS will now take place in Amsterdam.

The new location of the festival enables them to further develop the concept of DOKU.ARTS: as part of the expanded program being developed for the wonderful new Filmmuseum building, currently under construction opposite the central station in Amsterdam, and in consideration of the unique collection of the film museum, with its film distribution possibilities. Accordingly, they have changed the schedule of DOKU.ARTS from September to June 2008 during the Holland Festival.

The new edition of DOKU.ARTS was made possible through the generous support by the Dutch Cultural Broadcasting Fund and Goethe Institut. Furthermore, they continue to be supported by our partners Allianz Kulturstiftung, Arte and the International Media and Music Center (IMZ) in Vienna.

They are currently busy reorganising the festival, in relation to its new context as part of the Filmmuseum Amsterdam. Please note that DOKU.ARTS has a new project address:

Filmmuseum Amsterdam - Project Manager: Jan van den Brink - Vondelpark 3 - Postbus 74782 - 1070 BT Amsterdam - The Netherlands
