Genji Siraisi releases Surviving Freedom
On May the 20th, Genji Sirisi will release his latest album Surviving Freedom on Expansion Team Records.
As founding member of Grammy nominated Groove Collective and as composer, producer, programmer - Genji Siraisi released his album Censorsh!t: Pt.1 Bad Monkey in 2007 which was post-modern and partly post-apocalyptic. A mixture of downtempo grooves, ambient and minimal dance music which got blended into some filmlike voyage.
Currently Genji is taking some time off Groove Collective in order to explore new techniques in electronics, new software and different controllers. His work as a soloartist involves anything from documentaries to music for commercials like American Express, Target and Pepsi - to name a few.
His latest project actually started off as a remix for Censorsh!t but resulted in some full blown 80 minutes 12 track album. Voluminous in all aspects. Surviving Freedom: Uncensored Remixes & Naughty Bits contains new mixes, remixes and interpretations by Balún, no luck club, Q-Burns Abstract Message, Alex Moulton, and Pushtobreak, which is the alter ego of Genji Siraisi. A brand new track of the Genji & bonus four-part live Pushtobreak DJ Set will be added as bonus track to the album.
Being a New York native, Genji Siraisi is an active and well known member of the New York music scene. Besides of his work with Groove Collective he has produced many albums for Warner Bros and Impulse and collaborated with artists like Tupac Shakur, Natalie Merchant and Curtis Mayfield - to name a few.
