GERMANY’S NEXT TOPMODEL EPISODE 2

On the morning of the next day therefore only 24 girls were left who had to present themselves during some casting for some tv ad. What they of course didn’t know was that this was only some fake event, cause the only reason they had to perform in front of the casting directors was to get some insight into their abilities as an actor, cause as Heidi pointed out, it is important for a model nowadays to be able to act, as the requirements of the modelling job are far more than back in the days when all you were asked to do was look good in front of a camera.

Special guest of this event was german Cosmopolitan’s editor in chief Petra Gessulat. Of course this task was quite difficult to solve and in the end Rolf Scheider had only discovered five of the girls who from his point of view had international top niveau.

In the afternoon the contestants were divided into three groups. Each of them was to do some catwalk where they had to choose the clothing and decide about the choreography by themselves. During the catwalks we could see three great presentations of casual wear, sports wear and evening gowns. The jurors were quite satisfied, but in the end it was again time to wave goodbye to some of the young ladies.

This time all members of the jury which included Petra Gessulat made their comments and explained why - from their personal point of view - some girls should stay and others better should go home. The girls had to appear in front of the jury one after the other. Sometimes there were heavy discussions going on and sometimes the four of them had the same point of view and the girl in front of them received the photo book which contained the pictures from the afternoon’s shooting immediately.

As there are less girls left it’s of course getting tougher and tougher, day by day. The more tasks, the more tears afterwards as the girls in the meantime became close friends and now have to say goodbye to people they really care about.

At the end of this day, which marked the end of episode 2, only 19 girls were left, who can keep on dreaming of becoming Germany’s Next Topmodel.
