Glamour Stiletto Run - Pictures

Last weekend Berlin was celebrating the Global Fashion Festival at Wittenbergplatz and one of the highlights was the Stiletto Run organized by the Glamour fashion magazine.

The Stiletto Run in Berlins’s Bayreuther Straße saw 100 hot-footed fashionistas running like hell. There’s no way I could run 10 meters in high heels, much less 100. I thought there should be a prize for any woman who entered. But participating in a bizarre and unhealthy race finally pays off, at least for the winner - which was Denise Hanitzsch - who received a 10.000 EUR/$13,635 shopping voucher for KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens).

Although wearing high heels no less than seven centimetres high they were nearly all of them surprisingly fast. The organizers did electronic time measurement you usually see at the big city marathons. The girls all wore a chip around their ankles which registered them crossing the starting line and the exact moment they hit the finish line. In the end Denise Hanitzsch completed the 100-meter dash in 14,7 seconds.

Sonya Kraus, Bruce Darnell ("Germany’s Next Topmodel") and GLAMOUR´s Nikolaus Albrecht awarded the nicest outfit and the best stilettos and so the event saw three winners. The prize for the nicest outfit, 2.000 EUR, went to Avishan Noorbakhshwon and the coolest stilettos this year worn by Jona-Lena Kwasoff won 1.000 EUR.
