For those who want to know what the band name “Hot Chip” means, should check out their new video for the song “Ready For The Floor”.

“Ready for the floor” will be the first single taken from the album “Made In The Dark”, which will be released in February.

The video reveals the duality of the name “Hot Chip”: “hot” is a synonym for dancefloor beats and “chip” means digital perfection such as a computer chip.

Therefore everything that appears in the video is split into halves like the colours on the wall, Alexis Taylor´s hairdo and even the female dancers are cut into pieces, one half is visible while the other half is covered or one side is black while the other one is coloured .
