Graffiti Art has come a long way. Since its start in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the turn of the late 60’s, the movement took on very quickly in New York City and by the late 80’s was fully established as a movement in Europe as well. One of the biggest artistic movements of all times, graffiti found its way from illegal nocturnal actions into mainstream culture. To call the following art movement Post Graffiti, Streetart or Urban Art doesn’t matter, if you see the worldwide impact which this young art movement gave us. Watch out for the Masters of Post Graffiti..

The Artists:

SHARP was born in the Bronx, NY, in 1966. With his partner Delta, they were on hand to be major players in the last years of significant aerosol painting on the legendary trains of New York. Those years saw the end of the old culture of innocent creation and achievement that brightened the destroyed city, turning deferred maintenance wrecks into brilliant canvases that put a new face on the concept of public ownership. Sharp’s paintings today carry this entire heritage of graffiti. The elegant, proliferating wild-style lettering is in dynamic tension with the grid and calls the background to life.

DELTA is one of the most well respected old-school writers from Amsterdam. He studied Industrial Design Engineering and emerged with a unique painting style: his abstract lettering resembles isometric plans for high-tech vehicles or architecture from the future. He has influenced writers worldwide for decades with his 3D letter styles.

MODE 2 is a phenomenon. Not only his work in past and present reveal him as a central figure within European graffiti, but also his charisma makes him one of the most interesting characters of the scene with role-model potential. The thinking man of the British graffiti movement has recently returned from self-exile in Paris. His work is immediately refreshing due to its lack of posturing and antagonism, concentrating instead on very different themes.

ERON’Sartistic research is currently focused on portraits and landscapes realized with spray cans on canvas, mixing expressionism and realism within the same art work, obtaining an unusual aesthetic impact. The subjects of his works often express thoughts on social themes and on the act of “drawing” as an innate instinct of the human being to communicate.

Ebon Heath lives and works in Brooklyn New York. In 1993, he founded the design studio (((stereotype))). He is an adjunct professor in graphic design at Lehman College in the Bronx, New York. His series Stereo.type looks to explore the balance between an individual’s internal voice and that consumed via visual osmosis from the surrounding environment. Grown in opposition to urban ‘noise’ created through advertising media in the modern day landscape, Stereo.type explodes the written word.

NEON was born 1970 in Italy. Writing gave me much Space to discover and realize my own Mission. I started Writing in 1984. It was my second real fascination. One of the most important experiences was my first visit to NYC in 1988. I was one off a lucky kind, because just the second day I met the right people, and did the very right things! I returned to New York several Times and still doing Writing!

CZARNOBYL was born in 1974 in Poland. Since 1993 he has been living in Berlin. In 1980’ he started to create stencils in order to communicate his feelings and ideas. He was criticizing the social system and wanted to draw attention of average people on Streetart by making grey and creepy city buildings more colorful. In Berlin he developed his style and started to experiment with his art by creating new artistic forms from parts of old stencils. His current works are based mostly on variety of colors and shadows, which makes an impression of a photography. He works with canvas, metal, wood, plastic, glass and last but not least on the walls.
