Manuel Göttsching - first US concerts

For the first time ever Manuel Göttsching will be performing in the US!

Manuel Göttsching can be without a doubt called one of the pioneers of electronic music. His album E2-E4, which was released more than 25 years ago, hasn’t lost any of it’s unfluence on modern electronic musicians and some even consider it being “the” genres most fundamental album.

In the 70’s Manuel Göttsching was the founding member of the group ASH RA TEMPEL or simply ASHRA. Over the years to come Göttsching stayed with the group and at times was the only member. Nevertheless he recorded albums and went on tour with the help of guest musicians.

Although he has toured the world and has the status of an icon in some countries - especially in Japan - he has never played a concert in the USA, which is about to change on the 15th of August, when Manuel Göttsching will be in New York at the Damrosch Park @ Lincoln Center at 9pm. As “closing ceremony” of Worldless Music E2-E4 will see it’s US-premiere.

Following the New York concert he’ll visit Philadelphia on the 16th of August, where he’ll perform on the 16th at 8pm at the Church Sanctuary of St. Mary’s Hamilton Village, located on the campus of the Universtiy of Pennsylvania. This night he will present “DIE MULDE & GREATEST HITS” released under MG’s name but also under the name of Ash Ra Tempel & Ashra.

On the 17th he returns to New York for a midnight “Surprise Concert”. The exact location will be announced soon.

For those who would like to learn more about how it all started, there is a myspace site (made by fans) dedicated to MG’s early work with the band but also as soloist performing under the name of ASH RA TEMPEL or ASHRA. Check it out at: http://www.myspace.com/ashratempel
