METALLICA - Death Magnetic Release Party Berlin

METALLICA return on the 12th of September to Berlin for the official record release party of their new album “Death Magnetic”.

Finally the place got revealed where METALLICA are going to present their brand new album: They celebrate on the 12th of September as first band ever in the brand new O2 World Berlin, an events arena built by Anschutz Entertainment Group. 17.000 fans will get the chance to see the rock legends perform, which is the maximum capacity of O2 World.

Tickets for this unique event will be only available through Metallica’s websites „Mission:Metallica“ and „Metclub“ for a sensatinal price of 10 euros which is about 15$ US.

All details about ticketing or how to become a member of the Metallica fan club “Met-Club” or of “Mission:Metallica” are available right now at www.metclub.com and www.MissionMetallica.com.

METALLICA will take care about all of the expenses of the release party. They donate all of the earnings of ticket sales to the German Heartcenter Berlin, to help with the acquisition of a heart-lung machine for small children.

O2 Wold officially opens on the 10th of September 2008. With capacities of up to 17.000 visitors it is one of the most modern multi functional arenas in the world. Till the end of the year more than 40 sport and entertainment highlight will take place. The very first event will be the Metallica release party on the 12th and the opening concert of Herbert Grönemeyer on September the 13th. Stars like Coldplay, Leonard Cohen, Alicia Keys, the Dalai Lama, Elton John and sports highlights like the icehockey match between the Berlin Eisbären vs Tampa Bay, NBA Europe Live or the WWE-Smackdown will take place in 02 World Berlin.

In only few hours the arena can be modified from concert to sports arena. A premiere for this ability will be on the 26th of October when the german champions Eisbären (ice hockey) and Alba (basketball) will have their matches on the same day and the arena will change in no time from an icehockey to a basketball arena. Building owner is Anschutz Entertainment Group who made a contract with Telefónica O2 Germany which spans across a period of 15 years.
