New York Fashion Week: Matthew Williamson
Matthew Williamson mixes up diverse styles in his new collection for the autumn/winter season 09.
Matthew Williamson who is about to create a collection for H&M and recently opened a flagship store on West 14th Street in New York is always one step ahead of the trends.
The British designer showed a collection of hippie style silk prints with bright colors like orange and aqua blue combined with brown, beige, champagne, gray, black and white.
Embroideries, jeweled details, metallic inserts, tribal patterns
and patchwork elements graced dresses and slim pants.
A key element were the black and white stripes which could be seen as bold stripes on coats and zig zag stripes on miniskirts and jackets. Even the high heels came with zebra stripes.
Fake fur and cozy wool coats were the only elements evoking the idea of a fall/winter collection.
All in all Matthew Williamson´s designs for next fall season are exotic and sexy showing a lot of skin.
The front row included guests like Eva Longoria, Joy Bryant, Santigold and model Trish Goff.
