Pictoplasma Festival 2007 Berlin

The Pictoplasma Animation Festival of contemporary character design and art takes place from November 23rd to 25th, 2007 at cinema Babylon in Berlin.

Once again the three-day festival in Berlin invites audiences to discover extraordinary projects in various fields, including short films, music videos and motion graphics.

PRE-FESTIVAL

On Thursday, November 22, 7PM a pre-festival exhibition and party will be held at the Rodeo Club / Postfuhramt, Auguststraße 5a. The program includes the Character Ride: In cooperation with Japanese artist Akinori Oishi, Pictoplasma invites you to enter an intriguing world of seemingly harmless archetypical beings ( http://www.pictoplasma.com/ride ) and singer Hanayo will perform her live karaoke act while in full gallop. After that, DJ Martin Hossbach will keep you up dancing until the break of dawn. So join the crew for a ride, a drink, music and dance.

The Festival opens on Friday at noon at the Kino Babylon, Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Once more the historic film theatre Babylon-Mitte invites visitors to indulge in an extended weekend of illuminating screenings, exclusive presentations by creators and producers, and inspiring interdisciplinary exchange.

Character driven animation on a big screen includes work by 1st Ave Machine, Aardman, Aaron Brady, Amautalab, Ben Hibon, Blu, Daniel Garcia, David O´Reilly, Elmiko, Emmanuel Ho, Eric Lemer, Fake ID, H5, Hornet Inc, Iamstatic, Jared Eberhardt, Joell Trussel, Mixtape Club, Monster Factorx, Motomichi Nakamura, Nexus, PandaPanther, Paranoid, Picture Drift, Not to scale, Santamaria, Studio Aka, The Directors Bureau, Super Umami, Dinamo Digital, Window productions, 72 and sunny, Bupla, Three Legged Legs, Dirty UK, Draw Pictures, Buck, Model Robot, Bent, Gangpol & Mit, Punga and Tokyoplastic aka Samuel Lanyon Jones.

The first speakers are confirmed as well: Doudouboy (France), Aaron Stewart (USA), Studio Soi (Germany) and David O’Reilly (UK)
