Scherer González - Minimalist opulence at Berlin Fashion Week

The shoes weren’t the only highlight of the Scherer Gonzàlez catwalk at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin on July 19.

Perspex high heels with attached flowers which made every visitor of the show freeze in respect for the models who had to look relaxed wearing and walking in them - shoes which would’ve been one of the highlights in every x-rated movie, were an eye catcher which by a hair had pulled the spectators attention away from the fascinating fashion of desgin duo Scherer González.

While Basso & Brooke had presented the spectacular creations you can expect from London fashion designers, the remarkable thing about Scherer González was the overall quality of each single fashion item in many aspects. As you can see by looking at design duos like Dolce & Gabbana or Viktor & Rolf you’ll easily realize that a collaboration of two designers often guarantees for surprising results. The visitors of their show saw some altogether convincing collection - with many highlights and zero to none weak moments.

As a young and upcoming fashion designer from a city like Berlin it’s a duty to be bohemian and shrill. Sadly enough not everyone is able to convert those features into creations that - like the designs of Scherer González - are thrilling and elegant at the same time.

With an enormous amount of cloth and finest materials, Constanze González and Paul Scherer presented dresses which guarantee the attention that the female wearer expects.

No matter if it’s the neon-coloured summer dress or the gala dress - you never get the impression that there’s an inch of Duchesse silk, kashmir, ostrich feathers, cordovan, snake skin, crepe de chine put to a waste on this clothes. Selected cloth, luminous colours, thrilling prints and cuts - a subtle opulence, which is the trademark of the collections of Scherer González and which you can expect from a collection shown at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week’s main location.
