Sex and The City - The Soundtrack
On May 23rd the Sex And The City movie soundtrack will be released in Germany before the film hits the theaters on the 29th.
On the 29th of May “Sex and the city” launches in the German cinemas. It’s the long awaited reunion with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) on their search for the happy end. Everything is more glamorous, more exciting and bigger this time.
The ultimate “Sex And The City” cd features prominent voices and fits into every Gucci handbag. The title track “Labels Or Love” is sung by the Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie. Fergie is a confessing fan of the series and had not been convinced. “I’ve grown up watching “Sex And The City”, just like many of my girlfriends. We always had the feeling that the actors were our girlfriends.”
Gifted with a strong voice, Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson ("Dreamgirls") sings the “goosebumps” song “All Dressed In Love” and builds the connection to the movie where she stars as Louise, Carrie’s new assistant, who came to New York, just like her boss, to find the big love. Jazz singer Nina Simone provides us with a remix of her song “The Look Of Love”. Duffy sings her northern soul hymn “Mercy”. India Arie, the impressive madam of neo-soul presents, supported by a gospel choir, the bittersweet farewell song “The Heart Of The Matter”. Together with Al Green, the hip British singer Joss Stone gives a new drive to the Bee Gees title “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.
Surprising is the interpretation of the Bee Gees classic “How Deep Is Your Love” by the American indiepop duo The Bird & The Bee: Sung with an innocent girl’s voice the song matches the warm months and comes along with the lightness of a blowball. And because summer ain’t just going to be hot, but sexy as well, music which keeps you from getting overheated is right there to help: a chilly heaven full of violins for Carrie, her Mr. Big and all others who are crazy for love gets presented by Scandinavian pop collective Bliss. Unlike every exciting relationship there are sometimes louder tones: disturbing, angry and a little chaotic, Morningwood is there, whose singer sings a song about the “New York Girls”. Included is her operating instruction for using stilettos as a weapon.
Everything might end up in front of the altar. “Auld Lang Syne”, sung by Mairi Campbell & Dave Francis might come as a hint to the listner, cause this song is perfect for any happy end.
