The Berlin label Smeilinener showcases the new collection Winter 08-09 and part of the current 08 summer collection in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.

Mados Infekcija (Fashion infection) is a conceptual and innovative event in Lithuania celebrating fashion and art, a platform for young designers and professionals that combines shows with a number of special presentations and exhibitions.

Andrew Logan, as well as young and talented Jojo & Malou, Alistair Carr and Jean-Pierre Branganza (UK), Richard Rene (France) and Stephanie Coudert, Designer stars from Russia Denis Simaciov and Aliona Achmadulina and performance master Andrey Bartenev were already guests of the festival.

It is the first Smeilinener show in Lithuania supported by the Goethe Institute in Vilnius.

Inspired by a landscape architectural model designer Mischa Woeste presents with “Mind Games” a new pattern between fashion designs and art. Amount of lines of architectural models combine all the points the same amount at regular intervals by a curve and serve as attitude information. The precise thought process during production and the mental challenge of thinking result in a collection “Mind Games”.

Combining strong, clear colors (chocolate, caramel, lilac blue and silver blue) and high-quality textiles- stretch silk, and 100% Trevira wool, Smeilinener creates elaborate, sophisticated, playful and yet highly precise fashion.

The designer Mischa Woeste worked this time again with interior design fabrics of the Danish company “Kvadrat” and chose patterns of Tord Boontje and Fanny Aronsen, duo otherwise known for their special porcelain and lighting design.

Mischa Woeste graduated from the school ESMOD fashion in Berlin and founded her own label. Smeilinener won in 2006 the Baltic Fashion Award under the chairmanship of Escada Executive Wolfgang Ley whose appreciation and praise for the “Sunny Side Up” collection were contributing to the success of the show . In May 2007 Smeilinener re-opened the flagship store in Berlin with a new store design. At the Berlin Fashion Week in July 2007 Mischa Woeste presented two collections: “Jolie Jumper” and “Midsummer Nights’ Dream”.

The philosophy of Smeilinener

The brand Smeilinener is derived from Mischa Woeste’ girlsname „Linsenmeier“. Smeilinener stands for colours, handcrafts, joy of life, high-end quality, timeless & longlife. Every collection is made of traditional fabrics from various countries, dominated by handmade detailing.

The challenge is in collaging the various textiles to create an unknown context. The traditional known is turning into the extraordinary special item.
