Toronto Fashion Flash Mob in June
What would happen if the busiest hub of downtown Toronto froze for five minutes?
Find out on Saturday June 7, 2008 as FASHION Magazine, in partnership with Luminato, presents FASHION Flash Mob 08.
A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief period of time, then quickly disperse. Participants of all ages are invited to strike a pose and be part of art, along side models from Elite Toronto.
With more than 860,000 people passing the corner of Yonge and Dundas each day, the interaction between frozen subjects and observers will create a fascinating spectacle.
Ceri Marsh, Editor-in-Chief, FASHION Magazine, will be on hand to speak about the publication’s commitment to Luminato and Canadian arts and culture.
Due to the motto which has something to do with ice, there will be a certain dress code: “Your brightest whites (at least one item - white t-shirt, white dress, white pants, white shorts, white wedding dress, white blanket, white bathing suit, anything white...)”
FASHION Magazine’s photographer and videographer will be on scene to document this performance for an upcoming editorial feature.
Date: Saturday, June 7, 2008 (rain or shine) Time: 11 a.m. sharp, Meeting Point: Toronto Life Square Northwest corner of Victoria Street & Dundas Street East (look for the white balloons) *After an initial briefing at this location, the participants will proceed to Dundas Square for the performance.
