YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA in Spain

Remaining silent for many years Yellow Magic Orchestra not only appear at Massive Attack’s Meltdown festival, they just announced another date in Spain.

In addition to their much-anticipated first London performance in nearly 30 years at Massive Attack’s Meltdown, electropop pioneers Yellow Magic Orchestra have announced a second live show will take place at Gijon, Spain’s Auditorium Ciudad De La Cultura on June 19.

Both performances with feature Yellow Magic Orchestra founding members Haruomi Hosono, Yukihiro Takahashi and Ryuichi Sakamoto joined on stage by Ren Takada (Pedal Steel/Electronics), Christian Fennesz (Guitar/Electronics), Shoko Ise (visuals), and Tomohiko Gondo (HD Operation/Euphonium).

As the curators for the South Bank’s influential Meltdown Festival, Bristol’s Massive Attack hand picked Yellow Magic Orchestra to perform in London for the first time since October 16, 1980 at the (then) Hammersmith Odeon. Finally, Yellow Magic Orchestra returns with a duo of performances at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, June 15 and Gijon, Spain’s Auditorium Ciudad De La Cultura on June 18!
