Actually since the release of the iPhone.

Want it now!!!

Yves Saint Laurent has gone for ever

The bad and most sad news of the week was that Yves Saint Laurent is dead.

On thursday the funeral took place in Paris for the man who started his outstanding fashion career at Dior after he got self employed few years later and started a fashion legend. Everybody who is of some importance in fashion attended the funeral - with one exception.

Karl Lagerfeld who was out of town for business reasons couldn’t be there but showed his perfect style with a bouquet of roses and other white flowers.

Adieu Yves!

Jennifer - Germany’s Next Topmodel 2008

We knew it all the time!

All along those 15 weeks of this year’s edition of Germany’s Next Topmodel by Heidi Klum, Jennifer - the tall blond 17 year old girl was our favorite.

Having all those “ingredients” a girl must have if she wants to compete in the international fashion business it was no surprise that Jennifer aka Jenni made it in the end.

A huge hooray from the BERLINISTA crew goes out to Jennifer.

DJ Spinna at Space Lab Yellow - Tokyo, Japan

Just a day ago DJ Spinna from Brooklyn/NYC happened to perform in Tokyo/Japan and a good friend of ours happened to be there as well…

Eelco who is currently travelling Japan sends his daily reports to friends and family. Read what he experienced last night:

“...i think annemarie and guus still remember carl craig in berlin in 2000 at no ufo. most of my old friends for sure remember laurent garnier in nighttown that same year. killer nights. well i just added another one. spinna 2008 in tokyo. he was a bomb of energy. unstoppable. a nuclear explosion. this guy really knows how to party. and he himself does it whilst playing the set. house detroit acid club jazz soul funk hip hop are the main genres that came by. all seeming to connect. and he loves percussion. those were the mixes that took about 10 minutes from the beginning till the end. the rest was a wirlpool of records comming by. he plays final scratch that is digital turntabling. no vinyl. although he had some vinyl but not much. so i think final scratch if you use it the right way can be perfect. again a dj that played all night long. he started at 11 and ended at 8....”

Guess Eelco encountered one of those rare nights… Check out DJ Spilla on MySpace

Pornsaint Art Exhibition #1 in Berlin

An exhibition featuring the art of Francesco D’ Isa and Ida Belogi is going to take place at ZERO project in Berlin.

Pornsaints.org is the art side of porn and the porn side of art. It is an artistic approach to porn, a pornographic approach to art, a pornoartistic approach to religion. They are a pornart community, a new wave from internet’s gutters, raising to consecrate underground stars.

Every porn star and pornbishop (=artists) are chosen for their artistic merits, not only for fame: At pornsaints.org they have both emerging and established artists (and porn stars). They have no medium boundaries: they host digital artists and traditional ones, and a wide selection of styles.

To learn more about their philosophical background, read the Pornsaints essay here:http://church.pornsaints.org/pornsaint-essay.

ZERO.project is a meeting place, exchange platform and a Gallery in Berlin with a focus point on Eastern Europe. At the same time ZERO is a network and a journalist office. The third area of interest is architecture, with specialisation environmental design.

ZERO is a neutral start-point, a beginning of creating something new, a cooperation to bring together both, the Eastern and the Western European cultures.

An exhibition featuring the art of Francesco D’ Isa and Ida Belogi Plus the art of: Marguerite Sauvage, Courtney James, Kristal Blanco

Winter chic by penkov

Bernadett Penkov interpretes the classic secretary look with the fine hand-sewed details.

High-waisted pencil-skirt and cream-coloured silk top result in a seductive combination .

Another option in light-green reflects playfulness and lightness.

Eelco in Asia

At the moment our friend and colleague from The Hague - Eelco Borremans is travelling Asia.

Just last night he sent his first report:

“ok, after a struggling for a moment in tokyo i found my way. tokyo is a maze. if you walk through the city you do not know where you are. it’s bigger than you can imagine. beijing and shanghai were big but this is out of the ordinary. the people. the way the structures are build. the metro system. the amount of people around. the lights. it’s confusing.

that’s a first time for me to feel lost in a city. and i mean really lost. there is no point to focus on. absolutely not. but i found some italian people who were at the same hostel for the night in the place i was staying at. and now we are staying in a basement hostel somewhere in tokyo. don’t ask me where because i don’t know yet but i will found out.

and as slow the beginning was as fast it will grow in to an exciting time. sorry that there are no pictures yet. that’s how confusing it was to arrive in the city. but tomorrow my journey will begin. and the italians are joining. so let the fun begin. it’s pretty late up here so i will write tomorrow.

cheers from tokyo,
eelco”

Great to hear news from our friend - now waiting for some pictures…
