Let me Google that for you!

As we are always happy when peple send us questions via our contact form, regarding our website or other topics of interest, we get surprised from time to time about the nature of the request.

Recently some brave soul asked about the private contact data of no other than Lenny Kravitz.

Yes, we love Lenny, but sadly enough, he’s one of the very few celebs who are not in our address book. If we had those info we’d of course wouldn’t give away any too personal information like address, phone number or something similar.

Next time we receive some similar requests we might just answer by sending the following link to “let me Google that for you”.

German “Park Avenue” magazine goes down the drain…

And another print magazine by the industry which is mainly responsible for the destruction of the rainforest has consolidated with eternity.

Any one’s able now to show some tears or feel sorry for the outdated industry?

I say: Go digital or die!

Google Android on T-Mobile’s G1

Google, T-Mobile and HTC today presented the first mobile phone which uses Google’s open source software Android.

Android is a mobile phone operating system which can run on every mobile phone.

The G1 might look not too spectacular, more like one of the design classics designed by the german company BRAUN, but it’s definately going to be our weapon of choice for our on the road reports as soon as it hits the shelves over here in Germany.

Read our extended report about Android and the G1 from NYC’s launch event today over at the main section of our website: Google - Android aka T-Mobile G1 is alive

NetShare for the iPhone available again

Dr. Macenstein just announced that NetShare is back online in Apple’s application store.

NetShare by Nullriver allows Mac users to connect to their iPhone easily and use it’s 3G and EDGE connection which - in Germany for example - comes as a flat rate, which means: unlimited surfing.

Still don’t own an iPhone myself yet, but i will in the near future and for sure am going to use this feature heavily as the mobile networks in Germany are usually very good and available with very few exceptions everywhere in our country.

In the past 1&1 was my internet provider and i used to own a flatrate until - due to heave usage by internet addicted like me - 1&1 chose to cancel all those contracts which made me switch to another more generous company.

If NetShare gets adopted by the heavy user scene to a huge amount chances are that the mobile phone providers around the globe will do the same…

Follow this direct link to download the application immediately. At 9.99 $ quite a bargain!!!

Waterbattle 2008 in Berlin

Tomorrow at 12pm the citizens of the Berlin districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg will meet on the Oberbaumbrücke to throw anything at each other that is wet and slimey.

The wasserschalcht (water battle) is a fun event about the rivalry between the two districts. In previous years, with a break in 2006 an 07 the people of Friedrichshain succeeded, but the Kreuzberg citizens are very positive that they can “make a change” this year cause the population of Friedrichshain has changed. The punks and unemployed have moved away, so Friedrichshain has run out of strong participants.

Let’s see who will succeed in the end.

4th of July - The new US Embassy in Berlin

The opening of the new american embassy at Pariser Platz in Berlin somehow marked the end of the Berlin protest movement.

Roman only spotted two protesters while he attended the opening of the new US Embassy at Pariser Platz. On the other hand there were 4.500 people who had received invites to attend the big opening celebrations.

Pornsaint Art Exhibition #1 in Berlin

An exhibition featuring the art of Francesco D’ Isa and Ida Belogi is going to take place at ZERO project in Berlin.

Pornsaints.org is the art side of porn and the porn side of art. It is an artistic approach to porn, a pornographic approach to art, a pornoartistic approach to religion. They are a pornart community, a new wave from internet’s gutters, raising to consecrate underground stars.

Every porn star and pornbishop (=artists) are chosen for their artistic merits, not only for fame: At pornsaints.org they have both emerging and established artists (and porn stars). They have no medium boundaries: they host digital artists and traditional ones, and a wide selection of styles.

To learn more about their philosophical background, read the Pornsaints essay here:http://church.pornsaints.org/pornsaint-essay.

ZERO.project is a meeting place, exchange platform and a Gallery in Berlin with a focus point on Eastern Europe. At the same time ZERO is a network and a journalist office. The third area of interest is architecture, with specialisation environmental design.

ZERO is a neutral start-point, a beginning of creating something new, a cooperation to bring together both, the Eastern and the Western European cultures.

An exhibition featuring the art of Francesco D’ Isa and Ida Belogi Plus the art of: Marguerite Sauvage, Courtney James, Kristal Blanco
Dj set by Madame Wish

This is the page dedicated to the show: http://church.pornsaints.org/pornsaints-art-exhibition-1

This art show will be in Berlin (Germany) from 14.06.2008, h. 20.00 @ Galerie Zero - Köpenicker Strasse 4 - 10997 Berlin - http://www.zero-project.org

Hedi Slimane - Rock Diary

At the moment nearly nobody knows about what to expect.

One thing is for sure - Hedi Slimane’s latest photo book will be great and we all have the chance to see his pictures when the book will be released in Europe on the 15th of June and in the US on the 15th of July.

Check out his website and you know what i’m talkin’ about regarding his skills as a photographer.

Eelco in Asia

At the moment our friend and colleague from The Hague - Eelco Borremans is travelling Asia.

Just last night he sent his first report:

“ok, after a struggling for a moment in tokyo i found my way. tokyo is a maze. if you walk through the city you do not know where you are. it’s bigger than you can imagine. beijing and shanghai were big but this is out of the ordinary. the people. the way the structures are build. the metro system. the amount of people around. the lights. it’s confusing.

that’s a first time for me to feel lost in a city. and i mean really lost. there is no point to focus on. absolutely not. but i found some italian people who were at the same hostel for the night in the place i was staying at. and now we are staying in a basement hostel somewhere in tokyo. don’t ask me where because i don’t know yet but i will found out.

and as slow the beginning was as fast it will grow in to an exciting time. sorry that there are no pictures yet. that’s how confusing it was to arrive in the city. but tomorrow my journey will begin. and the italians are joining. so let the fun begin. it’s pretty late up here so i will write tomorrow.

cheers from tokyo,
eelco”

Great to hear news from our friend - now waiting for some pictures…

(Image for the article taken from one of our today’s art festival videos where you can see Eelco in action)

Pimp my iPhone

This is by far the most “pimpalicious” iPhone modification i’ve seen so far and you won’t get the chance to see something similar…

The ultimate gadgetmodification which will attract the same people that put chromium-plated rims on their Porsche.

Know what i’m sayin’?

Say iPhone - say iPhone - say pimp my phone - say pimp my phone - all the ladies - all the ladies in da house say iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii….Phone

To make the whole thing even more distasteful - the uglified beauty will cost you around 180(thousand) bucks!
